Valentina Gonzalez is a Spanish artist based in Oxfordshire. She graduated in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Valencia in 2015 and moved to England later that year to pursue her professional career. Her artistic practice emerged from a desire to expand her creative freedom beyond the constraints of architectural design. Valentina currently combines her work in high-end residential architecture with her passion for visual art. She has exhibited her work in both solo and group shows across the south of England.
Valentina’s practice is an intuitive exploration of place, transformation, and memory through the language of collage. She draws inspiration from construction sites, the luminous simplicity of the Mediterranean landscape, and the tactile beauty of derelict structures. Her work reflects on the tension between construction and decay, balance and disruption, simplicity and contradiction.
Through a process that values intuition and material sensitivity, Valentina pays homage to the quiet beauty of vernacular architecture and the often overlooked details of daily life. Her collages invite contemplation — a slowing down to notice moments of transition, and to sense the beauty of transformation and the potential within the in-between.
There is a quiet melancholy in these works, but also potential — a sense of reconstruction and becoming.
